Maureen Denise McCormick - the youngest of Richard McCormick's sons - was born at Woodland Hills, California in 1956. Her father was a schoolteacher while her mother was a stay-at-home mom. Michael Dennis Kevin, her two brothers older. At a young stage of life, McCormick was a singer and dance and would often perform puppet shows for youngsters in the area. She won in the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was contacted via Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He asked her if she wanted to be a part of the business of show production. McCormick was hired to star in her first big part in 1964, in a tv commercial for Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The following year she starred as Chatty Cathy in a commercial and was then cast for Wind It up and It's Broken by The La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick, chosen from more than 1200 auditioning children to play the older of three two-headed daughters, in The Brady Bunch (1969) which starred Florence Henderson and Robert Reed. The run of five years for the show was a great success. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. She revealed in it that McCormick nearly lost her virginity on set of the series during the fifth season when it was played by Barry Williams. She was just 16 when she was in the scene and he was just 19. It would have happened she said but the timing wasn't the right time for us.
